Name: Robert Harris
Position: Account Manager in Adelaide for SA and NT
How long have you been working with Heidelberg? 4 years and a bit years
What did you do before? I served for 23 years in the Australian Army, finishing up as Warrant Officer. I worked with the ultimate in soldering – the SAS and enjoyed the challenges and the diversity of the experiences that went with it. After I left the army I got into sales first with cars and then in the print industry. I have found my new niche with 12 years under my belt and whole lot more friends as well.
How would you describe your team? I would say I am working with the best bunch of blokes and ladies you could work with.
How would you describe your typical day at work? Busy, with client visits and keeping things ticking along
The most challenging experience you've had? Sale of the XL 105 to Five Star, they didn’t know Heidelberg well and were looking to make a major new investment that would transform their business. There was a lot to do and a lot at stake. In total it took about 18 months to work through the project, the longest, most involved sale I have ever been part of work.
The best place you've been to? New Zealand’s south island - spectacular
The most memorable moment working with Heidelberg? My first conference in the Yarra Valley doing pre Drupa Training. This was my first experience with the company in this type of situation; I met wonderful people, had intensive product training and enjoyed the camaraderie
What would you be doing if you didn't work for Heidelberg? I would still be in sales.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? In my current position or may be a different role elsewhere in the company.
