Printex Deal ‘Perfect Ten’ for Heidelberg in New Zealand |

New Zealand printer Taieri Print signed a deal at Printex 07 for the longest A3 perfecting press to be installed by Heidelberg in the country – a SM52-10-P.
The long perfector is the latest in a series of decisive investments by the Dunedin printer which have seen the business grow considerably over the past few years.
Taieri’s growth trend started in earnest when just over three years ago they purchased a SM52-2-P, a SM52-4 and a Polysetter platesetter. Taieri Managing Director Peter Moore said, “With the increased capacity from those investments our business has grown by nearly 300% in just over three years.”
Taieri has aligned itself as the most efficient A3 multi-colour printer in New Zealand, producing a broad range of printed products including business stationery, newsletters, brochures and forms. As well as its press power, Taieri has invested in the latest bindery equipment to support the company’s book, booklet and magazine work. Taieri markets itself as a one-stop shop with a focus on quality printing.
Moore says of the ten-colour perfector purchase, “Our new perfecting press will definitely open the door to further growth and specialisation in our market. We will be able to print a double-sided full-colour job in less than half the time it took before. This offers enormous benefits to our customers such as allowing them to extend their own deadlines, with the quicker turnarounds we can achieve.”
Moore said that another important factor in the choice to go with Heidelberg is the favorable residual value of Heidelberg equipment. When the time comes to upgrade and invest in new technology, Taieri is well-placed to build on their current purchase.
