Automate Workflow – Increase Efficiency

Do you have performance issues in your prepress department? Have you ever wasted time checking a job for hairlines, missing fonts or images in the wrong resolution or colour space? If so, there is a solution for this.

Why not automate your pre press production without investing in a complete new RIP and Workflow system?

With Prinect Printready Heidelberg offers a very scalable solution – even without a Heidelberg RIP. The answer is Printready P, which automates the creation, checking and optimisation of PDF pages using the existing RIP for output.

Due to its modular and open architecture it can be extented and options added at any time. This means your system can grow with your production and capacity requirements whenever you need it to. It also means that you avoid over investing for today's needs and secures your present assets for the long-run.

Central Functions
Prinect Printready P offers centralised operation of jobs at the Printready Cockpit, which ensures better control of the production environment. The Template Editor allows the creation of the automatic sequences for the production steps, like normalising and trapping. Pages can also still be handed manually for one-off jobs.

Colour Management
Like all Printready Systems the Pantone colour Library is built-in, ensuring the accurate conversion of spot colours into process colours.

Automatic processing
Printready automates typical prepress processes that take a long time when done  manually and the speed and accuracy is also dependant on the operator’s expertise. With less operator involvement, the automatic process delivers high production security with fewer errors and also cuts the time for prepress production in half.

The following functions are included in the automated Printready P system:

  • Normaliser: automatically converts PostScript or EPS files in PDF files according to individual conversion settings.
  • CEPS Converter: converts TIFF-IT/P1 data to PDF files.
  • PDF Splitter: generates single-page PDF documents from a multi-page PDF document to accelerate page corrections.
  • PDF Merger: generates a single multi-page PDF document from several PDF documents to simplify handling and processing.
  • Font Vectoriser: converts text in PDF files to vector graphics to increase production reliability.
  • Preflighter Direct: detects and reports errors such as missing fonts, hairlines or incorrect image resolutions.
  • Color Carver: permits fully automated colour space conversions from LAB, RGB and Spot to CMYK; also supports CMYK gamut mapping (e.g. Euro Offset to newspaper) using ICC profiles.
  • Color Carver Plus: supports Hexachrome colours
  • Job Exchange: handles the import and export of all job-specific JDF content data to and from Prinect Printready ZIP files.
Automatic trapping can be added:
Trapper: analyses incoming PDF files and automatically generates the required traps as real vector traps.
