The Stitchmaster ST450 fully automatic saddle stitcher previewed at Ipex is the successor to the highly successful ST400 and designed to increase net output by up to 20% over the already impressive ST400.
A unique design in the feeder ensures that any misfeed will not cause a machine stoppage. Instead the offending signature will be ejected from the machine thus eliminating the cause of almost 90% of machine stoppages.
Other key up-grades include a larger diameter feeder drum so that sections pass each other thus minimising the risk of marking.
Individual suction lines to each sucker on the suction bar ensure positive feeding even when one sucker is uncovered.
IPEX 2006 saw the first ST450 order for Australia, with two machines scheduled for installation at a Sydney company planned for later this year.
