International banknote printers are highly interested in POLAR's ‘TwinClamp’ option |

Banknote printers count on worldwide POLAR novelty.
The optional TwinClamp device evens out height variations in the material being cut and substantially enhances productivity.
When producing high-quality printed matter varying inking, perforations and embossing often bring about very different heights in one and the same ream. This makes handling not only more difficult, but results in cutting problems, increased tolerances, etc.
Such difficulties are often tackled by using a lower clamp opening, which causes the cutting efficiency to decrease significantly.
The TwinClamp option allows operators to increase the clamp opening up to 100%, for example when bank notes are cut. The resulting cutting output is effectively doubled. TwinClamp ensures that such materials are constantly pressed while they are cut and in this way prevents a loss of quality that might result from a higher clamp opening. Material handling is improved (reduction of over 50%) and consequently efficiency is also much higher.
TwinClamp has been developed in cooperation with Amsterdam print shop Joh. Enschedé, where a POLAR 115 with this optional equipment has been used since January 2006. The customer has already realised benefits from this value added process and POLAR is pleased to say that they have received orders from Japan, Great Britain and France.
Of course, this feature is not restricted to bank note printers, but can also provide benefits to label printers in increasing the output of the cutting process.
TwinClamp can only be purchased together with a new high-speed cutter.
