Ukrainian Company Triples its Label Production |

In the second quarter of 2007, the Mikko Label Factory in Kharkov Ukraine will once more significantly extend its label production capability. The third DC-11 LabelSystem has just been ordered for this purpose.
As Ukraine’s largest label producer Mikko produces high quality labels, primarily for breweries. When its third system is operational the company will have a daily production capacity in excess of 20 million labels.
In 1997 Mikko rationalised its activities to concentrate increasingly on the production of wet glue labels. After a few years Mikko was no longer able to manage the enormous volume of orders efficiently and economically without automating the cutting process. Early in 2002, after comparing various competing systems, they decided to invest in a POLAR DC-11 LabelSystem. In June 2004 the second DC-11 started production at Mikko.
The DC-11 system produces in-line up to 840,000 die-cut labels per hour and covers the entire label production process. On the strip-cutting unit, printed sheets are square-cut into products which are then fed to the die-cutter and finally banded. The labels are either banded to logs or to precisely adjustable label packages. Since these processes are automated, excellent productivity can be achieved while maintaining high quality standards.
More than 25 DC-11 systems have been sold worldwide since 2000.
