POLAR Celebrates its 100th Anniversary in Great Style

The festivities organized to mark POLAR’s 100th anniversary included a Family Day, an Open Day and a Gala Evening.

As part of the 100th anniversary festivities for POLAR staff and their families, the company held a Family Day on September 22, followed by an Open Day on September 23. Long-standing business partners were invited to a Gala Evening in Wiesbaden on September 23.
Over 300 guests from more than thirty countries enjoyed an evening which was both entertaining and memorable. In addition to the POLAR’s Managing Directors, speakers included Bernhard Schreier, CEO of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG and Carl Thomas, Managing Director of Buhrmann Graphics Division. Both were unanimous in praising POLAR for being a loyal and highly dependable partner to the markets throughout decades.
Back in 1906, founder Adolf Mohr could hardly have imagined that his name would still be on everyone’s lips around the world one hundred years later. Alfred Henschel, Managing Director of POLAR said,“Ongoing commitment to innovation and consistency in applying quality standards have established POLAR as the world market leader over the past 100 years.”

POLAR made three special announcements at the gala event held in the Kurhaus in Wiesbaden: Michael Neugart, also a Managing Director at POLAR, symbolically presented a scale machine model to the Managing Director of Drissler & Co. Papiergroßhandel GmbH, for ordering the 125,000th POLAR high-speed cutter. Michael Neugart also announced a new annual POLAR-Mohr Award, which will go to the POLAR sales office that has engaged in outstanding country-specific marketing activities. The money associated with the award will be used to assist students or trainees in the country where the sales office is located.

Mr. Henschel announced the commissioning of the new POLAR Service Center, which features state-of-the-art technology and expanded capacity to ensure unrivalled parts availability and ability to deliver. POLAR intends to increase parts availability to over 95% and cut order processing time to less than one hour. This of course means POLAR customers will in future be able to obtain the parts they need in the shortest possible time.
