In 1949, more than 50 years ago, the Stahlfolder factory in Ludwigsburg was established. The name Stahl soon became synonymous for folding. For this reason, when Heidelberg acquired Stahl in 1999, the name “Stahl” was kept.
Still these days, when customers want to invest in a new folding machine, often the term Stahl is used to indicate a folding machine.
Stahl is folding. Folding is Stahl.
The K-, KC- and KD were the famous Combination folders. The most efficient folders for folding signatures. The T-, TC, TF and TD were the flexible Buckle Plate folders. Even today, these machines are still very much in demand in the used equipment market.
The folders above made the Stahlfolder the world market leader in folding machines.
Last Drupa, a new generation Stahlfolder was introduced: the TH and KH models. This new generation introduced some bold new changes. The new Air-Stream Table was one of those daring new changes.
It is always exiting to see how the market reacts on new developments. Do they like it or not? The answer is yes, our customers certainly like new TH and KH models.
Last month, the Stahlfolder factory in Ludwigsburg made one of the highest order intake in the 57 years history of the factory….! Only July 2001 – after Drupa – was higher.
1,300 units of the new TH and KH Stahlfolder have been sold now since the introduction in October 2004. Asia Pacific has sold almost 400 TH and KH folders – the highest turnover in folders for Asia Pacific since 2001.
It is no doubt that the TH and KH models are continuing and even growing the success of the Stahlfolder to new heights!
